Welcome to new Volunteering Development Officer – Jenna Morris
Wales VDO, Martha Boalch, has headed off on maternity leave during May 2022. We are very pleased to be able to welcome Jenna to the Wales team to provide cover whilst Martha is away. Over to Jenna to tell us bit more about herself….
“Hi everyone, I’m Jenna the new Volunteering Development Officer for Wales, providing cover for Martha whilst she’s away on maternity leave over the coming months – llongyfarchiadau a pob lwc Martha!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the wonderful team of staff and volunteers across the Woodland Trust. I’ve already heard so much about the amazing work you have been getting up to at woodland sites across the country and I am very much looking forward to being a part of it over the upcoming months.
I am passionate about nature conservation and have been fortunate enough to work for conservation charities for most of my working life, in various roles that have allowed me to engage and connect people with the natural world, heritage and their communities. I also have experience in youth work and involving young people with community and employment projects. I have worked closely with volunteers throughout these roles, and as a keen volunteer for many charities myself, I never underestimate the value of volunteering!
When I’m not working or volunteering you can usually find me walking the Wales Coast Path or Brecon Beacons National Park, or visiting a local nature reserve as I seek out an elusive animal, rare bird or wildlife spectacle.
I am looking forward to getting my boots on the ground, visiting our volunteer groups across Wales and meeting many of you in the near future.”
