Save the date South West region volunteer gathering

We are excited to announce that after some searching, we have managed to secure a venue to host our South West all region gathering which will be on Sunday 20-Monday 21 November 2022. The venue is in Dawlish and a short walk from the train station

The Plan will be arrive 11.30 Sunday Morning, coffee followed by lunch, then a mini bus will take everyone to where the trust began 50 years ago at Avon Valley for a guided walk more information on the wood can be found here . We will then return to the hotel. The evening will have an external keynote speaker, a chance to contribute to a skill share to ensure that training in 2023 is tailored to your needs. For example if some volunteers would love to learn more about hedge laying, and another group would be happy to facilitate a demonstration we can then look to link everyone up, and when required enlist an external trainer.

Monday Morning after breakfast a minibus will take everyone to our newly acquired site Coombe which is a woodland creation site and we will do some tree planting more information about coombe can be found here . Then back to the hotel for a light lunch before leaving to head home.

There will be plenty of opportunities to chat to regional staff and volunteers and find out and talk to other volunteers who are in your county. You can attend as much or as little of the 2 days as you wish. Formal invites will be going out later in the year.

We look forward to seeing you all in November.
