Castle Hill Wood – a busy winter period for Volunteers

In North West County Durham we have welcomed some new volunteers to our regular monthly session. Our winter work plan is to clear overhanging trees and branches from an adjacent housing estate and clear a fire break within this wood which was planted in year 2000.

In November, the volunteers had much better weather.

Just checking that the results of a drystone walling course were still intact!

Recent work clearing beside an adjacent housing estate.

Some high reach trimming to reduce fire risk.

The end of another good work session at Castle Hill Wood.

Another big thank you to the Castle Hill Wood volunteers – some very good work done in these last two sessions.
