Smithills Update 10th June 2021
Hoping everyone is well and enjoying some sunshine!
We have two new volunteers – Fire Patrollers Rak Patel and Tony Hemans. Welcome both!
Volunteer Thank You event
We would usually have held our annual volunteer thank you event during the first week of June. However, we want to wait until restrictions are eased, so that we can invite you all onsite – at the moment the maximum allowed is thirty, and there are a lot more of you than that! So, depending on the decision made on the roadmap, we will organise an event during July.
Dry stone walling training
We have a dry stone walling course taking place on 8 and 9 July and is run by the Dry Stone Walling Association. The aim is to train a group of volunteers to help us to restore the walls on the Estate.

Because it is socially distanced and takes place in individual household groups, it won’t be affected by any delay to the reopening on 21 June 🙂 Take a look at Joyful June here and book directly through the Rusticus website –
The Octagon Theatre are bringing Reynard the Fox to the Estate also – just waiting for booking to open but the details of the play are here:
