Baby squirrel at Kinclaven snapped by one of our volunteers
Jim Low, one of the trusty volunteers at Kinclaven, took this stunning photo of this adorable little one at Kinclaven Bluebell Wood earlier this week.
Jim almost stood upon as he got out of his car but it eventually scampered off and up the tree. It looked quite young to be out on its own says Jim…he wishes it luck though.
Working with Jim we are trialling feeding squirrels and birds in this wood at a very low key level. Although this biodiverse ancient woodland is perfectly rich enough in food for squirrels and the many birds such as redstarts, tree pipits and nuthatches, the feeders create a wonderful engagement tool for both the public and for visitors from corporate sponsors.
