Faughan Valley: from fragments to thriving forests
This April we officially launched the Faughan Valley: from fragments to thriving forests project. The event that took place via zoom saw experts in conservation, tourism, access and funding speak about the impact that this landscape project will have on the north-west of Northern Ireland, not only in respect of conservation seeing huge volumes of restoration work and woodland creation already underway, the increased access to woodland for the local population and the benefits they will ensue and not least the positive impact on the economy as the project is set to generate income via tourism trade for the local area.
The informative session was led by TV presenter and producer Joe Mahon who you might know best from Lesser Spotted Ulster, who kept the panel of speakers on their toes.
Shortly we will provide a link to watch the launch on this page but in the meantime please visit the new Faughan Valley pages on our website where you can find out more about the project and watch the Faughan Valley video.
