New for 2021 – UK Volunteer Virtual Learning Progamme
We are all really excited to be able to invite you to take part in our new UK -wide volunteer virtual learning programme.
Our programme of volunteer virtual learning sessions will be running from April – October 2021. Course topics comprise of topics identified and requested from volunteers across the UK.
All courses are free and available for any Woodland Trust volunteer to attend. Booking is essential as places are limited and booking is on a first come first served basis. Courses are delivered by a range of both Woodland Trust staff and external trainers. Learning session dates are below and more information about each session is available on on whittle event listings.
All courses will take place on ‘Zoom’. If you have not used this before or need a bit of help and support, full details on what to do will be provided on booking and your Volunteer Development Officer is on hand to make sure you feel happy and confident in accessing the session.
Booking your place
All courses are now available to book by emailing the person identified in the event listing. On booking you will receive by email session information and the link to zoom to join in with the learning session.
If after booking you are unable to attend for any reason, please make sure you email to cancel your place. This will enable someone else to be able to attend.

12th May 2021 – An Introduction to Tree Pests & Diseases
14th & 21st June 2021 – Summer Tree Identification (This is a 2 part session and you must be able to attend both sessions)
17th June 2021 – An Introduction to Tree Pests & Diseases
28th June and 4th July– Summer Tree Identification (This is a 2 part session and you must be able to attend both sessions)
21st July 2021 – An Introduction to Tree Pests & Diseases
12th September 2021 – An Introduction to Woodland Management
26th September – How Trees Work and Matching Species to Habitats
2nd October – An Introduction to Woodland Management
5th & 12th October – An Introduction to Orchard Management( (This is a 2 part session and you must be able to attend both sessions)
23rd October – How Trees Work and Matching Species to Habitats
