South West Christmas Zoom event
We held our first all-region volunteer zoom event on Thursday 10th December from 7-8.30pm.
The event was attended by 28 people.
The evening started with a welcome from Amanda Bealing Volunteer Development officer, explaining the format of the evening and how to use the chat function.
Rich Brown Site manager for the Wye Valley and Al Hotchkiss Conservation advisor then gave a talk on Bringing the Woods back into balance, which received some great feedback. Ross Kennerley South West regional manager then gave an update on 2020 and what the South West region will be doing for 2021
We then had a Christmas Quiz with 10 festive tree related questions.
We received some positive feedback about the event, here are some of the comments that people kindly sent in
Thanks so much.
This has been brilliant can we have more of these in the future please
Very interesting.
It was lovely to get a catch up on what’s happening in W.T.
Just wanted to say thanks for organising last night’s event.
Thought it was both interesting and very well run.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the meeting last night. The talks were very good and I learnt a lot and I also enjoyed the quiz. Please convey my appreciation and thanks to all concerned..
Look forward to seeing you at our other events coming up, please look at the South West vents page on Whittle.
Thank you for everything you do for the woodland trust, wishing all of our volunteers a happy and healthy festive season.

Many thanks for orgsanising the event, Amanda. It’s good for us whose volunteering is mainly deskbound to see what happens at the sharp end.
