South East Fundraising Success
Earlier this month, a real South East region collaboration delivered three days of non-stop guided walks for our long-term supporters.
Jim Rice (Regional Development Officer) and Hannah Burgess (Gifts in Wills officer) worked alongside Phil Truluck (Site Manager) who led walks for five people at a time, giving guests a unique experience that thanked them for their generous support and inspired future pledges and gifts.
Home Farm, a huge Woodland Trust site in Hampshire, was the location, and ideally suited. With great bird-spotting opportunities and a real mix of different habitats, without our fantastic supporters, this could have been turned into a landfill site before we purchased it in 1990.
Guests were gushing with positive feedback after their walks as we prepared a hot drink for them. Many said they really appreciated getting invited to hear more about the Trust’s work, visit a site they hadn’t been to before and learn about how the varied habitats are managed. They all had interesting tales of their own; some had been members since the early ’80s, some have been attending HS2 protests and others spoke with passion about feeling they are doing something meaningful to protect nature for the next generation.
