Don’t forget our regional events!

Next Tuesday sees the first of our virtual events season as we near the end of 2020. Have you secured your place yet? Please see details below. We look forward to seeing you soon!

An introduction to ancient tree recording

Join us for an insight from Citizen Science Officer, Tom Reed, who will tell us about the Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree inventory, how we record ancient trees and some wonderful examples of what has been recorded so far by our volunteer team.

Ed Goodall, who leads on the Treescape and Lost Woods of the Wealds and Downs projects will also be contributing, to give a brief overview of this exciting work, followed by a Q and A session and information on how you can help.

DATE: 3 November, 2020

TIME: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Please email SEVolunteering@woodlandtrust.org.uk to receive information on how to access the event, which will be held online using Zoom. This event is open to all volunteers at the Woodland Trust.

Observatree, monitoring tree health in the South East

Learn more about tree pests and diseases and the Woodland Trust’s work recording them from two volunteers from the Observatree programme.  Stephen Middleton and Richard Churchman will give an overview of the project and describe some of their fascinating findings from the Woodland Trust estate. This is a great topic for people curious about the management of tree health or those who would like to update their knowledge.

The prize? A perfect warm fuzzy feeling to kick off your festivities with.
