Welcome to our new North England Regional Fundraiser
We would like to say a very large welcome to Tom Wright, who has recently joined us as our new North England Regional Fundraiser. Tom came into post just before lockdown, but has already been working hard looking at ways of funding and supporting the ongoing development of volunteering in the North of England region. There are a few words from Tom below. Welcome from us all Tom, and great to have you on board!
‘I joined the Trust in February after 5 years with the Canal & River Trust (CRT) where I was the Community Engagement Manager covering Yorkshire and the North east. This role involved a lot of working with volunteers and finding funding opportunities to support the development of volunteering within CRT, I also loved getting out on practical volunteer days on river clean ups! The regional development role with the Woodland Trust will be focused on developing and securing funding to allow us to do more woodland creation, ancient woodland restoration and ultimately grow support for the Trust.
I’m really looking forward to getting out and seeing the North region’s amazing woods that I haven’t been able to do yet due to the pandemic lock down.‘
