Getting Afloat – Volunteering Update
As I’m already known for my terrible one liners, I saw no reason to change that, hence the title and the picture!
Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks. As some of you will be aware we have reintroduced individual volunteer roles and volunteer roles that carry out activity in pairs in some areas of the UK. This is very much dependent on whether staff are available to support volunteers, as some are still on furlough and current priorities. The majority of our National volunteer networks have returned to their activities or are in the process of doing so. It’s good to start to be returning to something resembling normality.
Volunteer groups haven’t yet been given the green light to return, however I am working with the estate and health and safety teams to review this weekly and keep up to date with devolved government advice as well as talking to many partners in the third sector to share best practice.
As always we understand it is your choice whether you feel comfortable returning to your roles at this time. Please do adhere to any local restrictions if your area finds yourself in the position of being put into a local lockdown.
As always please contact either your volunteer manager or the National team at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
All the best
