30 years Knott Out!

Our Site Manager for Cumbria, Heather Swift recently celebrated 30 years with the Trust, yes you heard that right  – thirty years!

Heather has achieved a huge amount for woods and trees during her time in the Northern Ops Team.

She was integral in securing and delivering the Trust’s first £1m HLF project at Hackfall, resulting in winning a coveted 10,000 euro Europa Nostra award. More recently she also played a key role in getting the Smithills project off the ground.

Some of the trust’s most picturesque woodlands in Cumbria, including Great Knott wood, now lie securely in Heather’s hands.

At a recent North Estate team meeting Heather was presented with a £100 Wiggle voucher and an engraved bill hook (she’s a national champion hedge layer too). as a way of recognising this great milestone.
