Loch Arkaig osprey nest gets a pre-season check-up

Fingers crossed it won’t be long now until our nest at Loch Arkaig will be occupied once again!  The team who manage the camera, including Lewis Pate, our raptor expert, and the company who installed the equipment, went up on a snowy day to check that all is functioning well.

The team of 10 ospreycam volunteers ar primed and ready to edit camera footage once we go live later in March.

We are thinking that Aila and Louis won’t be too chuffed about the muddy state of the nest and will have their work cut with their spring cleaning.

Here are some images from the nest visit.

Mudbath with a view!

The pine martens have been having a good go at trying to climb up our pine marten proofing!
