Community tree planting days at the Young People’s Forest, Mead, Derbyshire
Come and join us this winter for tree planting at the new Young People’s Forest at Mead, as part of the #iwill campaign to promote youth social action. Help us plant the first trees on the former opencast site adjacent to Shipley County Park in Derbyshire where local young people have the opportunity to get involved and help direct its future development.
The next event days are Saturday 7 March and Saturday 21 March, with two sessions of 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm each day, so please book on either session. No previous tree planting experience is necessary, just wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. Limited numbers of spades can be provided but bring your own if you can.
Please book your session/s here.
Parking at Shipley Country Park Car Park, Slack Lane, Heanor, Derbyshire, DE75 7GX where signage will direct you to the tree planting area. Please note this is a pay and display car park.

To date, the Trust has received fantastic support from Pears Foundation, the Pears #iwill Fund, the Veolia Environmental Trust and Biffa Award, as well as Nationwide Building Society and a gift left by a Trust supporter in their will. This funding has helped the project get off to a flying start.
