Increasing tree diversity in Langton Wood

Volunteers from our Langton Wood practical group have been busy undertaking some fantastic work on the site over the winter months. They have been thinning out ash regeneration which is badly affected by ash dieback to create spaces to replant with a variety of species next month with the aim of increasing tree diversity in the woodland.

A huge thanks as well to  Mark Shiperlee from Living Woods North East for the tree felling training day he led for the group last month at Langton Wood. Everyone who attended enjoyed it and volunteers who came along have fed back as to how useful they found it.

Thanks for all your efforts and hard work everyone

Gwynn Dunn- Group Leader, Langton Wood
