South Downs tree planting marathon
On 3 and 4 December, 70 Fever-Tree staff worked hard to plant 1,500 trees in the South Downs. The landowner, also the co-founder of Fever-Tree, recently purchased a large farming estate in the heart of the South Downs National Park, which is in our Treescape area.
The South East Outreach team are working with the owner on all aspects of trees and woods across the estate. Not only have we planted around 2ha of new woodland, the team has surveyed of all the landowner’s woodland (much of which is ancient) to assess threats, recommending restorative actions, and we are working with one of our trusted consultants to produce a woodland management plan.
All the Fever-Tree staff had a great time and got stuck in to plant a huge amount of trees in such a short space of time. They were on site for 3 hours each day, before a well-earned pub lunch and the bus back to London.
We are looking forward to working with Fever-Tree in the New Year and hope to explore more planting opportunities across the estate – watch this space!
