Time for Tring tree planting!
On a frosty, but bright and sunny day helpers travelled from near and far to take part in a mass tree planting event at Tring Park. Organised as part of the Big Climate Fightback the event was extremely well supported with many people booking on to the morning and afternoon planting sessions.
The atmosphere was amazing, everyone was so happy to be out in the winter sunshine and keen to make their own contribution by helping us to plant trees. It was all hands on deck as tree planters of all ages got stuck in. Some people planted 1 or 2 trees, others planted 10-20, all help and support was much appreciated. Although it was a chilly day, people left with muddy hands and huge smiles on their faces!
The focus of the planting was across three areas and the range of tree species planted included holly, yew, oak and many others. A massive 5000 trees were carefully put into the ground, which is an absolutely brilliant achievement and the Woodland Trust is so grateful to all the help that was given on the day.
A special thank you to our brilliant volunteers who braved the chilly conditions and supported the event, whether it was to show visitors how to plant trees, direct them to the planting site, help with the craft activity or marshal the car parks.
