Big climate fightback!
The Woodland Trust has launched The Big Climate Fightback – an engagement campaign to inspire 1 million people to pledge to plant a tree on 30 November as part of a UK-wide day of mass tree planting. It is a call to action in response to the joint threats of the climate and bio-diversity crises. Tree planting will be happening on Trust sites in each country and region. Partners are hosting planting events and we’ll be sending over 700,00 free trees to schools and community groups. We are also encouraging planting at home or in publicly-accessible spaces where permission has been granted. The event aims to combine huge numbers of small actions creating a mass movement of committed people wanting to make a positive change. We are inviting people to share their pledges on social media using the hashtags #EveryTreeCounts and #BigClimateFightback
Volunteers are invited to join in and make their pledge, to support events, to spread the word and to inspire the country to plant more trees. Please let us know how we can support you. Further information can be found at www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/bigclimatefightback
