28th Aug – Volunteer visit to Mount Stewart
Join us this August when we join Toby Edwards, Area Ranger at National Trust property Mount Stewart.
Toby will lead us on a guided tour of the beautiful grounds at Mount Stewart covering the north Demesne providing an insight into how they gear up for autumn/winter woodland management on the estate at a landscape scale and a discussion around climate resilience, the work they are involved in with the red squirrels as they start to get active again along the Ards penninsula and giving our Woodland Trust volunteers some hints and tips along the way with a chance to access some areas behind the scences that aren’t opened to the public yet!
Our visit will involve roughly a 3-4 mile guiding walk included a stop off at the Ranger base at the old farm to grab a bit of lunch.
Date: Wednesday 28th August
Time: 10:30am- 3.30pm
Location: Mount Stewart (National Trust)
The event is free to attend for Woodland Trust volunteers but booking is essential. As the carpark can be very busy we would ask if you can car share where possible and as always dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear.
If you would like to attend please email firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Wednesday 14th August.
