VOLUNTEERS WEEK CELEBRATIONS! Woodland Trust meets Kew! Oh, and a survey…!
As we reach the end of another fantastic Volunteers’ Week, we all really hope that you have taken time to reflect on the amazing work that you do as volunteers and get excited about all that the future holds. You really are all inspiring in everything that you do to support the Woodland Trust, both nationally and regionally. Once again, THANK YOU!
This was very much the tone of the day when a group of SE volunteers visited the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew on Wednesday – to spend time together, to learn from each other, to be inspired and to hopefully feel valued for their time and contribution. We were made most welcome at a very busy time of year for the Gardens and enjoyed meeting some volunteer guides, before Sarah Shorley, Project Lead for the Tree Charter, introduced some of the SE’s Charter Branches. It was great to hear about this part of the Trust’s work and how our regional volunteer groups can get involved and work together to be even more impressive in their passion to achieve even more for woods and trees. We even got to hear a rap from one of the Charter team – a really innovative way to engage people with an important mission. All together now: ‘plant some trees, so that we can… BREATHE!’ If you would like to find out more about Charter, please contact Sarah: firstname.lastname@example.org or visit: https://treecharter.uk/
Thanks to all who supported the visit, our second of the SE’s get-togethers this year. All feedback is much appreciated to make our events for volunteers more meaningful and enjoyable for the future. Check out the events calendar to see where the next one is…
For those who haven’t attended any of these events this year, we would love to know what you would like to see so we can plan for 2020! Please take part in our very short survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/J8RHWH2
Have a fabulous end to Volunteers’ Week 2019! We really can’t thank you enough! Here’s to a great Summer!
