Training day – Woodland Ecology and Management

This took place on 19 May 2019: Fourteen attendees had a busy one day course at Scotton Village Hall followed by a walkabout in the Nidd Gorge woodland near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire with Edward Mills, where he shared his skills and experience as a Chartered Forester. The day effectively introduced attendees to the different types of woodland, how to investigate the nature and condition of the wood as well as ecology, woodland management objectives and how to prepare appropriate management plans.
