Canal Wood Task day

Six members of the Woodland Working Group at Canal Wood got together on the 6th April to tackle some much needed tasks in the woodland.  The group battled the very windy conditions and got stuck into strimming and mowing the boardwalk and bunded path.  The rain has been attacking the area surrounding the well resulting in some of the quarry dust being washed out so the team got to repairing the area so there is an improved approach to the well.

Some general tidying was needed including clearing out branches from the drain, Pat and Peter from the group have started working at the drain to make it a more attractive, free flowing feature so hopefully this might distract anyone from throwing debris into it in the future.

The group was delighted to welcome back Peter to the wood after sometime away recovering from a hip replacement!
