If you have ever had the pleasure of visiting Victory Wood near Whitstable in Kent, you will know it is a site of both archaeological and ecological interest. Naturally, we want to shout about this and, as per our mission, we want to increase the ways that we engage people with the magnificent woodlands we look after.

Saturday 21st September 2019 will see the return of Victory Wood’s annual Heritage Day, which will be one of the busiest events that we organise in the SE and will see visitors coming along to discover a fantastic hidden relic: a sunken bunker used to monitor nuclear attack at the height of the Cold War.

The event is free to attend and we anticipate that it will be as popular as ever, which is why we are seeking volunteers to lend a hand in various ways. If you can spare a few hours or the whole day, we would love to hear from you! The event begins at 10am so briefing will be around 8am, with close of play around 4-5pm.

Please let Anna Claxton know ( in the first instance, who will be very glad to hear from you. A million thank yous for your help.

We’d love some extra hands to make the event run smootly and be a success as it was last year. Any of you able to help out?
