Standing up for trees at the Sustainability Leaders Forum
The partnerships team was proud to represent the Woodland Trust at this week’s Sustainability Leaders Forum (SLF) in London.
The SLF is a major event for leaders in global sustainability and was attended by the likes of Unilever, Deloitte and GlaxoSmithKline among others.
It provides an ideal platform for the Trust to promote the role that trees and woods can play in delivering a more sustainable future and how supporting our cause can help businesses work towards the UN’s sustainable development goals.
Beccy was one of the speakers at the event, discussing how businesses can successfully grow while transitioning towards low-carbon output. You can watch a video of the discussion here.
You can also listen to a podcast in which Beccy and other leaders answer questions raised at the event.
A sustainable stand
Our presence at the event also included the first use of a striking new display stand made from 75% recycled materials and that is 100% recyclable.
Stuart Davis, print production manager, said: “Exhibiting at the SLG, we felt it was essential that all of our display materials were not only eye-catching, but as environmentally friendly as possible. The Eco-Display Walls are sustainable displays printed onto cardboard. We are able to reuse the displays which are supplied in cardboard carry cartons, helping with transportation and storage issues.
“We also found that they were competitively priced in comparison to the more common metal and plastic stands. This has been a huge step forward for the Trust in sourcing these products and we aim to continue down this path in 2019.”
