New Visitor Experience Officer for Heartwood and Hainault Forest

Welcome to George Lewis, the brand new Visitor Experience Officer for both Heartwood and Hainault Forests. If George looks familiar this is because in his previous role he was a Membership Development Officer with the Woodland Trust and was often at Heartwood with his membership stall and gazebo.

In his role as Visitor Experience Officer George will be working to develop Woodland Trust presence over at Hainault Forest, while maintaining our visitor offer at Heartwood. This will include overseeing the events programme, volunteer support for visitor-facing roles, and maintaining our Visit England accreditation. George will be working with the Central England Engagement and Communication team, as well as the Heartwood and Hainault Site Managers, Luke Shenton and Jonathan Jukes.

George said “I’m really looking forward to getting started with this new role. Hainault is such an incredible opportunity for the Trust to really engage and share our message with a wide audience. Heartwood is very dear to my heart after spending so much of my time there come rain or shine. To be in a position to help make every visit as enlightening as it can be is a privilege.”

So why not check out the events section of the Woodland Trust website to find out about the events taking place at Heartwood and Hainault over the coming year – and if you see George, pop over and say hello!
