Tree planting magic at Langley Vale
If you went down to the woods on Saturday, you would definitely be sure of a big surprise! On 26th January, 2019, Langley Vale hosted its final public tree planting event and fun was truly had by all.
Site Manager, Simon Bateman-Brown, said: “This is one of the best attended events I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of in ten years at the Trust. What made it particularly special for me was all the happy faces and big smiles of those planting. I spoke to so many people who said what a brilliant time they were having, what a great site it is and how well organised the event was.”
The figures speak for themselves:
- Just under 14 acres were planted
- This works out that we planted just a shade under 10,500 trees!!
- We had 550 members of the community attend the event
Local MP, Chris Grayling, also attended to give support and get involved and we even saw the sun on occasion. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to make sure the day ran smoothly – it wouldn’t have been a success without you. We hope you all enjoyed it and, if you were in the planting fields, weren’t too stiff the next day! What a team!
