NI volunteers brave the ice for first task day of 2019!
Woodland Trust volunteers joined up with TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) on Thursday 17th January for a second day of cutting and planting willow pegs along the Glenedra River.
It was the first task day of 2019 and the first sight of snow on the mountains around us. Despite how it looks it really was a pleasant day for the planting!
The planting is important to help slow the flow of water flowing down the river and to improve the water quality.
We had a small group but did they work hard! If you look really closely you can see TCV’s white van off in the distance thats where we started planting and you can see where we ended up! A really hard days work from everyone!
Thanks to all our volunteers for coming along and making a great day of it!
