Networking events in the SE – what would you like to see?

Brrrrr! It’s a bit chilly out! I hope you are enjoying the crisp Winter days – snow is on the way… which is why I am dreaming of Spring and Summer. Of course, all of the seasons have amazing offerings courtesy of Mother Nature but you can’t beat a bit of sun either and as the weather gets warmer, it is the time to get together and celebrate the amazing work of the Woodland Trust’s volunteers.

For those of you who have been volunteering for a while, you may remember last year that we had some fantastic networking events across the region, which gave volunteers a chance to meet, find out more about latest news from the Woodland Trust and enjoy taking some time to recognise the amazing contribution you all make. From guided walks in the Woods to visits to local places of interest, those volunteers and staff that were able to attend really enjoyed it so we are pleased to be organising some for 2019!

Keep your eyes peeled for dates coming very soon but, for now, it would also be great to have feedback from you if you attended a volunteering event last year, or some ideas even if you didn’t. Some helpful questions that you can answer include:

  • If you attended last year, what was your favourite bit of the event? What about your least favourite bit?
  • What sorts of activities might interest you for a get together?
  • Are there days of the week that might suit you better?
  • How far would you be willing to travel to attend?

We really want to make sure that we are organising events that will not only show you how much we value you as volunteers but also be a great chance to have fun so please do email any comments to:

annaclaxton@woodlandtrust.org.uk by Monday 28th January, 2019.

I really look forward to meeting you soon and thanks as always for all that you do.

Anna Claxton
