A word from Sarah
I’d like to wish you a very happy Christmas from everyone at the Woodland Trust. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication in 2018, we literally could not do our important work for woods and trees without you!
We’ve achieved so much in 2018 – starting with the launch of our brand new volutneering framework which is helping us to work towards achieving Investing in Volunteers accreditation next year.
We also launched our volunteering website Whittle. We hope you are enjoying all the regional and national news, policy updates and invitations to events nearby. Whittle was created following feedback from the last national survey, so if volunteers you work with haven’t logged on yet, do encourage them.
2018 also allowed me to travel the country meeting and filming many of you for the Volunteer of the Year Awards and case studies. The short videos demonstrate how fantastic our volunteers are and how vital you are in realising our vision of creating a UK rich in native woods and trees, for people and wildlife.
I wish you all good health and a happy winter season. As always if there is anything we can help with please do get in touch.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.
Sarah Shaw – Volunteering Journey Officer
