All hands on deck for new group at Nidd Gorge
Our new practical conservation team at Nidd Gorge has been going strong for nearly 6 months now, and in that time has already achieved a huge amount on the site.
The group is led in partnership with Harrogate Borough Council, with days being led by countryside ranger Sam Walker.Under his expert support and guidance, the group has been going from strength to strength. This fabulous new team, to name but a few things, have cut back vegetation, replaced steps, created drainage ditches, replaced bridges and moved 10 tonnes of stone to improve footpaths in the site.
The work achieved has not gone unnoticed with visitors commenting on the fantastic work that has been achieved. Below are just a few photos that show some of the work that has been undertaken. A huge thank you to all of you for your support for coming together to help achieve such great work on the site, and many thanks to Sam for his support and time in helping make the group such a success. Onwards and upwards into 2019…!
