Langton Wood Update

Thanks to all of our volunteers who came out to our Langton Wood site, in Redmarshall, near Stockton on Tees last week. The practical group met for a really useful day  removing young vegetation growth  from the old pond site in the woods. Next year the group will be looking at reinstating the old pond, helping to diversity the sites habitats and increase wildlife at the site.  If anyone would like to come along and join in in the groups activities and join up as a woodland working group member, you would be very welcome, please visit our Volunteer Opportunities page on the Woodland Trust website for more details.

Was out in Langton Wood last week (Tue 8 Jan) and took some excellent pictures. Noticed the coppicing that had been done and more marking had also been done ready for the next section to be coppiced. Pity I can’t upload them to the Visit Woods website for some readon or another! Anyway very nice wood.
