Hocus Pocus at Hainault Wood
Last weekend saw the annual ‘Spooky Walk’ take place at Hainault Wood. Over 600 visitors came along to this enchanting event and enjoyed having a go at the various hair-raising activities along the walk. The Woodland Trust was very fortunate to be supported by a number of volunteers who helped in a variety of ways to ensure that the event was a huge success.
Ghostly and ghoulish activities included spooky story tellers and a monster trail through the wood, designed to provide visitors with a fun, thrilling and scary experience. The odd zombie turned up too, as well as a few spiders and bats! Visitors got the chance to learn all about woodland folklore and a fantastically creepy craft activity kept the children busy with making their very own spooky spirits. Warming themselves by the fire, visitors could also toast marshmallows and stop awhile to take in the eeriness of the wood on this spookiest of nights.
Thanks to everyone who supported the Hainault Spooky Walk!
