Skipton Castle Woods Lantern Event
On Saturday 6th October, 500 happy lantern walkers descended on Skipton Castle Woods for the wood’s fifth Willow Lantern Walk. This year the route included an extra mile of woodland and for the first time included the grounds of Skipton Castle. Skipton is a woodland with three deep water courses and several steep slopes and drops and so the role of volunteer stewards was especially important not only for visitor welcome but also to ensure a safe and secure event. Seven of Skipton’s volunteer team assisted on the night – the Trust could not have delivered this event without their help. Thank you to Nigel, Wendy, Claire, Alan, Myfanwy, Ros and Jon.
