London’s Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy launches Tuesday!

On Tuesday the 2nd of October we will be launching our second QCC project – this time working in partnership with the Greater London Authority to send out 24,000 trees for planting in gardens across London.

Each tree pack will include 2 trees – one for you and one for a friend – so that we are reaching even more households across London. The packs will also come with all the planting instructions and will be part of the movement which the GLA are pushing to ‘Make London Greener’.

We’ll be opening applications for Londoners to apply for London QCC tree packs on Tuesday morning and applications will be open until the 5th of November, when we will run a prize draw to select the 12,000 lucky households.

The launch on Tuesday will be a tree planting event with Shirley Rodriguez, the deputy mayor for environment and energy, along with a local community group planting trees in inner city London. We’ll share more information and pictures from the launch event as it happens on our social media and on here so keep your eyes peeled!

We’re very excited to be launching this second QCC project and if you know people who live in London (or if you live in London yourself!) then pass it on so they could have the opportunity to plant trees as part of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy.
