Moth evening at Hatherstone Woods

In late July some of the volunteers at  Hatherstone Wood enjoyed an evening at the woods trapping moths.  Local Mr. Moth, Barrie Widden and colleague John Day hosted the event which coincided with the start of the nationwide Big Butterfly Count.

Some 29 species were identified, including an unusual sighting of a leopard moth, and the striking appearance of a Jersey Tiger.

Thank you Jim leFeuvre  for the information and Photos

Wish I could have been there – sounds like a fantastic exercise.
