Gorse Covert Mounds update

If you visit the top of Pestfurlong Hill you will now discover a beautiful newly installed bench to sit and enjoy the view. Produced with local sustainable timber by the Earth Skills project it provides a perfect spot to relax.

There has also been a huge amount of activity at Pestfurlong Moss, in partnership with the Carbon Landscape Project, with volunteers involved in a whole range of surveys, from nesting birds to dragon fly and butterfly surveys.  Last weekends dragon fly and butterfly survey saw 6 damselfly/ dragonfly species, including brown hawkers egg laying and a very friendly southern hawker, plus 11 species of butterfly, including brimstone, common blue and holly blue. A huge thanks to Phil Rees and volunteers who have been involved in this.
