Heartwood volunteers plan a fantastic summer festival
Preparations for the Heartwood Summer Festival are in full swing! A team of Heartwood volunteers are pooling their expertise and have planned an exciting day for the whole family. This year we’ll be celebrating Heartwood Forest’s 10th birthday!
Visitors to the festival are invited to ‘Tree-lax and unwind’ by wandering over to the Asana area and mindfulness yurt, where they can experience yoga and mindfulness sessions and talk to experts in the Zen Den. Budding bakers and cake makers can take part in a bake-off competition, a Teddy Bears’ picnic will take place at noon and anyone with a four-legged friend is invited to take part in a fun and informal dog show! There will be a variety of stalls and other things to do, including woodcraft demonstrations, a wildlife zone and loads more! Heartwood boasts a plethora of wildlife and visitors can learn more by joining a guided walk.
Thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers for all of their hard work planning the event, and for their passion and enthusiasm for Heartwood! The Woodland Trust is very lucky to have such dedicated volunteers!
