Talking Trees – let’s double Bristol’s tree canopy!
The Woodland Trust is funding the public-facing campaign through the People’s Postcode Lottery Street Trees project funding. Bristol residents and businesses are being encouraged to plant and sponsor trees, volunteer to survey existing trees and get more involved in celebrating the role and benefits of the trees in their city.
The Talking Trees project has included a PoeTree Live Slam event and the fabulous walking talking human tree at the Bristol Festival of Nature. The four partners are also working together on a tree strategy and an i-tree eco-survey of Bristol’s existing trees.
The Woodland Trust’s Catherine Brabner-Evans who is leading the project, reports that there has been great coverage so far with pieces on itvNews, in the Bristol Post, Western Daily Press, BBC Radio Bristol and plenty more online coverage.
The campaign will run throughout June. Visit www.talkingtreesbristol.co.uk to see how people can join and check out #TalkingTreesBristol
Help us celebrate street trees by promoting this campaign through your social media feeds and share with friends and colleagues who have a Bristol connection.
