NEW Health and Safety policy: please read
Today marks the launch of our new Health and Safety policy for volunteers.
Who is this policy for?
This policy is for volunteers engaged with the Woodland Trust and staff that work with volunteers. Everyone, including volunteers, contractors staff and anyone else working on behalf of the Woodland Trust have a role to play in ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others.
This policy outlines the Woodland Trust’s approach to Health and Safety in Volunteering.
It covers all Woodland Trust tasked volunteering roles including those volunteers based out on site, at events and within the office or home environment. Following this policy and related safety guidance notes will ensure safe working practices for all our volunteers and help us to meet the requirements of our Insurers.
Volunteers and Volunteer Managers must familiarise themselves with other relevant policies such as;
- Personal Safety & Lone working
- First Aid
- Risk Assessment procedures
- Equipment & Machinery instructions
The full policy is available by clicking the link above and in the Whittle library.
