Celebrating our Volunteers
On Saturday 2nd June the South West volunteers were invited to attend a thank you event held at Curry Rivel village hall, where there was a chance to meet other volunteers and staff. There were also some presentations followed by lunch
After lunch we all headed off to the beautiful RSPB Swell Wood, Fivehead, Taunton, where Richard gave a guided walk, pointing out the ancient woodland indicators, and information on the wood.
We then went to go and see where the herons were nesting, they proved tricky to see for some of us, but the nests were easy to spot, and the herons were generous and did pop their heads over the nests so that we could see them.
A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for everything that you do for the Woodland Trust, and thank you for coming along and making the day so enjoyable
