Hardy volunteers help out at Scotland MOREWoods tree planting project

One of our MOREwoods clients has nearly 900 trees to plant on her land near Riccarton Mill in the Scottish Borders this season, but is physically unable to plant them herself. Four gallant Woodland Trust volunteers came to the rescue last weekend, including Keith Knight, who is the volunteer Woodland Creation Champion supporting this project, and managed to get 330 trees in the ground and tubed and staked before the rain defeated them.  One of the volunteers, Kati, brought her husband and four year old daughter, Esther, who I hear was absolutely in charge of the event, worked very hard and thoroughly loved the mud!

The remaining trees will be planted soon by local friends and family.

Well done Keith, Kati & Esther – great work. It’s only weather after all!
