And it’s a BIG THANK YOU from me!
A BIG THANK YOU to all my volunteers
Hello! I’m Judith and I’m the new Volunteer Development Officer, covering South East region. My patch stretches from Hampshire across West and East Sussex to Kent, then up and along to Surrey and the London area, south of the River Thames. I also cover Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire – not forgetting the Isle of Wight! There are 140 woods in the region and I work with seven Site Managers and three Assistant Site Managers to support their volunteer work.
It’s a really busy role and I’ve been out and about meeting some of you over the past few months. I hope to meet you all eventually! I’m really impressed with the work that you do in our woods and I can see that they are much better places because of you. So that’s why I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all. I hope that your time at the Woodland Trust is memorable and enjoyable.
Those who have met me will know that I am passionate about the environment and that woods and trees have an important part to play in everyone’s lives – a fact that is becoming more and more recognised. I have two children and I think that protecting woods and trees for future generations is one of the best gifts you can give so thank you for helping us to do this.
I look forward to working with you all. If you have any questions about your role as a volunteer, please feel free to contact me. JudithMeagher@woodlandtrust.org.uk
If you’re all wondering how to pronounce my surname (Meagher), it’s Mar and is from my Irish ancestors as I’m not Irish!
