Meet Amanda

I am excited to be working for the Woodland Trust as it combines my passion for nature and wildlife with working alongside volunteers.

I have previously worked within the social housing sector, having left about 9 years ago to work solely the charity sector, working with volunteers. Prior to joining the Trust I worked for Guide Dogs within the South West region, recruiting, training and developing volunteers and organising a variety of events.

In my spare time I volunteer for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust doing bee walks, I also volunteer for Exmouth in Bloom. I love being active and am a keen runner and am always up for a challenge from doing mud runs, obstacle course races to facing my fear this year by doing an abseil.

The photo is me with an apple tree grown from seed, it’s just below my shoulder now!

Hey Amanda how about bud grafting our Bishops Knoll ancient apple trees on to your own . Now till the end of August is the right time. Can’t now remember if you came on the course which Les Davies ran for the BK volunteers but all our grafts are doing well in the tree nursery now
