Skipton volunteers explore opportunities for practical conversation projects
Visitor Experience Officer, Hazel Birdsall Singer was joined at the start of January for a get together between Skipton volunteers, Estate Manager, Alistair Nash and Site Manager, Mark Feather. The day was spent exploring opportunities for a new practical conservation group based at the Skipton Castle Wood.
Recently awarded its Visit England accreditation, the day was spent identifying and discussing practical projects for the site in 2018.
With a whole range of exciting projects planned, from dry stone walling and step building to maintaining many of the sites features, the group plans to establish regular work party dates on the site in the near future, allowing volunteers to help contribute to the maintenance and development of this key northern destination site.
