Friends of Gorse Covert Mounds celebrate another successful year

After a successful year of activity in 2017, Woodland Trusts Friends of Gorse Covert Mounds group, near Warrington, met for their annual Christmas celebrations, to raise a glass to all that has been achieved throughout a hugely busy year. With a host of events delivered, including gorse planting, tidy ups, willow arches, BBC filming and coppicing, they are now looking forward to 2018, which includes some exciting partnership work with Lancashire Wildlife Trusts Carbon Landscape Project. A fantastic surprise for the group at the celebrations was the delivery of a new interpretation board for the top of Pestfurlong Hill, brought along to the evening by site manager Neil Oxley, Many thanks to Neil from the group.
